SO much to add to this latest post, it has been months since the last. Since then DJSF has played with the FHG on a show at Martyrs' which included a longtime hero of mine named Ari Brown. Ari is a great saxaphone and flautist, as well as a fantastic and lauded composer and piano player. It was a real treat to play with meet and hang out with Ari. The show was a huge success and the party went on late into the night.

Chicago AfroBeatProject opened, and then we all played together after the FHG set. A great time to say the least. Thanks again to everyone who came out.

Well its the Holidays. It seems I will be filling in for Mike Hall in Sticky Lupree (guitar), at the Webster Wine Bar through the month of December. So I hope to see a bunch of you hanging out drinking wine evry Monday night in December. This is a great group of guys whom I've played with on and off for many years,including a couple of new faces in the group. It always promises a good time.

Also I will be playing a bunch of shows in trio featuring Tom Jacek (my frequent partner in crime) begining with one December 23rd in Deerfield. Details on this show coming soon.

ACTion/REACTion...I think we've decided on a different name...just haven't decided on what. Anyway A/R Ensemble has been playing some shows with Le Bande Sans Fin, and they are going well. It has been kind of an ambient jazz electronic improvisational scene, but we've started rehearsals and...well let's see.

Lately I've been busy doing lots of sound effect and dialogue editing work for Sound Audio Solutions, who counts among its clients many of the biggest software developers in the world.

Fareed Kalyan and I are in the begining stages of the next Fareed Haque Group record. Discolour has had one rehersal so far, and will hopefully be out playing soon. We are working with a great young bass player named Adam Gardner.

For the last month or so I have been working hard in the studio on preproduction for the next Fareed Haque Group. I am getting ready for a series of ACTion REACTion Ensemble shows at Phyllis'.

Played a great show with an ensemble that I am working on, and calling the ACTion/REACTion in DeKalb, at The House Cafe. This is a very improvisational electronic ensemble, which at its core is DJ, SYnthesizers, and Drummer. In this incarnation it was Tom Jacek, drums and Ted Kocher, synthesizers. We also played a set that was manipulated by Le Bande sans Fin. Check out the audio from the core trio on the Audio page. Keep an eye out for the audio from the collaborative set with lbsf. Definitely keep an eye out for this group as we will be playing together again soon.

For the last six months I have been touring as a member of the Fareed Haque Group. This is a group of the finest musicians Chicago, and the world for that matter, has to offer. This group has been together for some years, and has mastered the art of the fusion of musical elements in a way that I have been interested in exploring for a long time. The musicianship and artistry in this group is absolutely top notch, and I can say it is a pleasure every single moment working with such artists.

The big news so far is that Kalyan and I are reuniting under the name Discolour again. This band exists at it's core as a duo between Kalyan Pathak and I. We are currently working with a couple bass players on new material and tunes from our first recording. We will be out and playing soon, so keep an ear out.

The page under the name Tzvi Lichtenstein will be used to feature the guitar playing and jazz style music that I also write and have worked on, and recorded, as well as any pertinent information regarding the Trio or Quartet in my name. However Dj SoundandFUry is clearly the most active of my performing aliases at the moment.

Dj SoundandFury hits the road touring as a member of the Fareed Haque Group featuring my good friend and drummer/percussionist Kalyan Pathak, of course the world famous Fareed Haque himself, and Dan Nimmer the 21 year old master currently holding down the piano chair with Wynton Marsalis' groups.

Welcome to the site, please surf around, and get comfortable. Most of it is done being constructed, and up to date. I am learning and updating the site as I go, and hope to keep it very current, so check back often.
